Research Study for Caregivers and Persons with Dementia
Are you caring for a loved one with dementia?
Through the AdventHealth and Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts partnership, AdventHealth will conduct research about the role of the arts in improving health in the community. The objective of this research study is to determine whether performing arts can help dementia-care recipients and their caregivers.
During the eight-week study, care partners will experience theater games, movement exercises, improvisation and scene-work – building up to an intimate in-class performance among the group.
Who is eligible for the study?
- Caregiver must be the unpaid and primary caregiver, and 18 years of age or older
- Care recipient must be 65 years of age or older
- Care recipient and the caregiver must live together in the community (not in a nursing or rehabilitation facility)
- Sessions begin in August 2018 with estimated study and analysis ending in December 2019
This fun and interactive class will meet once-a-week for eight weeks at the AdventHealth School of Arts located at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
